Digital divide

A recent survey by the World Economic Forum resulted in Denmark being elected as the worlds best IT nation, but at the same time a survey from the Danish Technogical Institute shows that about 38% of able-bodied danes are not capable of using a computer and the net. In more detail, 20% never used a computer and furthermore 18% are not able to use an internet search engine properly.

I actually thought we were way ahead of those numbers, that it was around 10% who had never used a computer and about 8% that furthermore couldn’t do a decent Google search. What do you think the numbers are for blogs? Wikis? Social networks? Seems like Tapscott’s metaphor of the digital natives and digital immigrants will come in handy then.
